I know lotsa folks feel that establishments that prohibit guns on their premises ought to be boycotted. Well.....

....how about an establishment that does not let you in UNTIL you show them that you have a gun. An establishment that mandates OPEN CARRY, otherwise they give you 1/2 assed service. An establishment that has a big sign out front that screams "NO IGNORANT LEFTISTS OR SHEEPLE ALLOWED".

Whaddya guys think?

When I was in business for myself with a public establishment the week the Texas concealed carry law went into effect I proudly placed a sign on the door of my place that said:

"We appreciate and encourage your new legally carried concealed firearms in our establishment".

Noone ever complained. Of course, it was a coffeehouse in a podunk little backwards college town and we had a tendency to encourage open display and show-and-tell of new goodies among our 'more colorful customers' anyway.

It was more like an armory that served coffee some days.

It's funny that most sheeple don't pay attention. IME its rare they notice a signage that prohibits CCW. They are paying attention to whatever sheeple are interested in.

Its the repsonsible gun owner and CCW'er that notices the signage and little things like pro gun signs, a pistol in a shadow box for decoration in a business, counts the antique firearms at a Cracker Barrel...of course we DO tend to be aware. Even in a PC type area we can spot like minded retailers...like the"brass"in the corner as an umbrella stand.;)

I rather open up a firing range/sushi bar. Much more explicit.

I would simply ignore any sign that says the effect of: "No guns allowed on premesis".

My employer has a no firearms policy which I also ignore.

My body, my choice!

I choose to carry concealed. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

We did have a lot of grinning folks who appreciated the sign. Of course, you tend to find people who think that way in Texas and I'm sure other places that have settlers of a tough, independent streak. As far as places that have a generic "No Guns" sign...hey, it's concealed, dangit...you don't see it, I dont have it.

I consider my need (desire) to carry one of selective necessity.
My rule of selective necessity states that "the more you need it, the less likely you are to have the functioning component or that it will fail at the worst possible moment". It usually applies to things like electric fuel pumps or alternators, but I carry the philosophy into my daily life and that's why I'm so obsessive about preventive maintenance on everything.

When I open up my business, there will be a sign that says "5% discount to CWP holders" or something similar. It will be a restaurant that serves mostly munchies. The name of it will be "Come Here When You're Stoned" with smaller text underneath it that reads "But Don't Bring Drugs." It will naturally be open 24 hours. Cops would frequent the place because of the name (and the coolness of the owner) and the other customers would get to know the cops without fear, because they didn't bring drugs :D Gets the community involved with the officers.

I think it could work.

20 +years ago there was bar/grill/pool hall in another town, where I lived Yes everything would get quiet when the phone rang...'he aint here'.

So name it " They ain't here" when the boss , liberals, spouse ...your trying to figure out how to sneak that new gun home, having junk food and using new gun at the target range and the phone rings...they ain't here...buys some time, allows for another bit of shooting., getting the alibi straight...

Not exactly the same thing, but I've often argued that we need an NRA AIR – an airline that not only doesn't give you hassles about bringing firearms aboard aircraft, but actively encourages it. Everyone with a handgun larger than .30 caliber gets a free upgrade to business class!

The entire flight crew would be armed, and the flight attendants would wear skimpy "cowgirl" suits, complete with six-shooters. Typical in-flight movie choices would include "Quigley Down Under", "Shane" and the "Lonesome Dove" mini-series.

Plus, virtually no chance of successful hijackings...

I think that if I had my own business, I wouldn't put a sign one way or the other. I don't see any reason to tick off any customers for no reason. If someone wants to carry in my store, more power to them. If they don't, I don't care. (as long as they spend money that is ;) ) I heard Michael Jordan interviewed one time. The reporter tried to get him to commit to be either a Republican or a Democrat. He said some to the effect of "Listen, right now everybody buys my tennis shoes. Why would I want to cut my customer base in half?"

I'd be just as happy to take a liberal's money as a conservative's. I'll even take money from a Libertarian. But that's just the capitalist in me. :D :D :D

There used to be a restaurant down in Phoenix where the waitresses all wore western blouses, jeans, and six-shooters. But the outfits weren't "skimpy" - this was back in the 60s. I have no idea if the guns were loaded, probably not, but who's going to check?

I would settle for just not being descriminated against for having a gun. I guess my goal is just to get back to zero where nobody cares either way.
