Check this list of media stories that Yahoo features under its "Yahoo Full Coverage Gun Control News"
http://www.alphecca.com/archives/alarc060703.html#l
I know I submitted the story in the Washington Times about Nancy Pelosi being no more eager than President Bush to see the assault weapons ban extended and it never got play from Yahoo.
Is Yahoo biased on this or is the bias reflected in this report just a factor of the media in general being biased?

More than likely its a bit of both. Yahoo sucks and so does the media.

Doesn't Yahoo just post links to on-topic articles? So if the general media is posting more anti-gun stuff then there will be more anti-gun links on the Yahoo page. Likewise if the general media is posting more pro-gun articles (fat chance) then yahoo will have more of them.
This is the page you're talking about right?http://news.yahoo.com/fc?tmpl=fc&cid=34&in=us&cat=gun_control_debate

That is my understanding; but nominally pro-gun links like the June 2nd Washington Times story have been submitted and not accepted as of this time, while other anti-gun links from the same time frame have.

That is the one.

OK, I just sent them to more links (Reason and National Review).
The National Review link was a criticism by Eugene Volokh (UCLA law professor) of the recent PA study on guns that is linked to numerous times by Yahoo.
The Reason link was a dissection of the bogus "50% of dealers would sell gun illegally" that is also linked to on Yahoo's site.
Neither of those links made it to the Yahoo "Full Coverage" Gun Control Debate; but they did find time to add an editorial attacking Bob Ehrlich for poor enforcement on gun crimes and a piece in the Seattle PI editorializing on "Gun Recklessness".
It seems to me that Yahoo is making a conscious decision to slant the news they present in that forum.

i like keepandbeararms.com newslinks system. all articles about guns in general, in the popular media, including both pro-gun and anti-gun articles. it's important to see what's being written on wrong side of the story, too. they also do a great job of finding letters to the editor, and of rallying people to write to newspapers. i can think of at least one newspaper that since has changed its slant ever so slightly.

Yahoo has an agreement with Reuters to provide news coverage.

Well, they have a submit form to send links in; but apparently they don't necessarily use those links. I think whatever the issue is, it should concern all of us because a lot of people get their news from those links.
I tell you, if all you had to judge the gun debate by was the links on the Yahoo page right now, it would seem amazing that we even allowed people to own slingshots.
My beef is that any ignorance created by Yahoo is ignorance we'll have to cure if we want to keep our rights. I don't think it is unrealistic to ask them to post articles from both sides and not just one.
