Do you guys think trading slightly used Springfield Loaded 1911-A1 for a CZ-97B is a good idea?

I handled that CZ yesterday and just can't get over it...

Well, if your SA is the bees knees (accurate, reliable, blah, blah), maybe not. But if you're not charmed by it or it acts up, why not go the the 97? It will likely be more accurate and comfortable to shoot.

Did you get to shoot the 97? That might make a difference. I have the Springfield and love it. But I've also had a hankering for a CZ. Keep us posted on your decision.

Trade straight across? No way. You can get CZ 97s for under $500. I bought mine for $425. (sold it later) Loaded models go for much more.

If you really want the CZ, sell the SA first, and then just buy it.

Didn't realize the 97 was going for so cheap.

I'm with Correia, if that's the case.

I think it depends on both guns....a slightly used loaded would go for around 5-550$....at least in our neck of the woods....
You can get into a 97 for around 500$ out the door....I think its a good trade if they both like it......
The 97 isnt guaranteed to out shoot the SA.....but the odds are with it.......:D
Shoot well

:uhoh:

I pretty much did this...

2/3 reduction in group size. :D

I did take a hit value/price wise, but I had to get something different.

Dang... I feel like Bill Clinton now. I'm a gun slut!

Gun Slut: Noun - meaning one who buys and trades guns just for the differences regardless of values lost in the exchanges.”

Only if you're trading for the CZ and about $200 cash and you really want the CZ. Even used (however, little), the SA is worth much more.

It depends on your SA.
I have put alot of work into mine to get it shooting to POA, and it will soon be someone else's.
I have shot several CZ's, and they have put my Springfield to shame. POA and dead reliable.
My new Mil-Spec is also as reliable as a claw-hammer--it will hit every time. Unfortunately, it also had the same range as one because the sights were off by about a foot low and about 8" left. There is no way that anyone paid any attention at all when they put that one together.
That leaves a bad taste in my mouth, eventhough I now have the problem more than less fixed. I no longer care for Springfield's products, and I don't want to own one anymore.
If I were presented a local trade for something I wanted, I would go for it.
As it is, I am working a deal on an SKS, ammo and cash for my Mil-Spec.
Since I am getting more than less what I want, I think it will be a good trade.
