I installed a versa-pod mounting bracket on my Mossberg 100ATR, tightened it finger tight and it ripped the sling swivel mount right out of the synthetic stock

I have another mounting bracket on a Savage stock and did not have the same problem. The stock looks somewhat flimsy, observing the piece that broke off. Think Mossberg will give me a free stock? Does anyone even make a replacement stock for this rifle?

Easy repair. Drill out from the barrel side to accept a "T" nut available in any hardware aisle. Get one that's threaded to match the machine threaded type sling swivel. If your old swivel had wood type threads you'll have to purchase a machine threaded swivel.

The "T" nut should sit flush enough in the barrel channel to not contact the barrel... or make sure it does I should say. You may have to hawg out a little relief for it.

This will be strong as $#!+ !

Yah I realized that would work after posting. I filed down the broken part and screwed in a threaded swivel mount, not going anywhere now.

Versa-pod is a nice design, moral of the story is be careful when attaching it to synthetic stocks without using a steel swivel mount.
