We have been looking for land in a few different states and have about decided to move to Va.We have been looking in the Hillsville,Floyd,Tazewell areas.

Can anyone give me an honest idea of taxes,hunting permit costs,etc..or recommend an area.

We currently live near Charlotte NC and just want to have all the family living close together like the old days.We're looking for around 50 acres or so.

I also wondered how well they take care of the roads in inclimate weather.

Roads for the most part are kept in good shape, tonight (2-13-07) may be the exception. Temperature is just below freezing and ice is starting to cover everything.
Here in Montgomery and surrounding Counties the land is going fast but still a lot to invest in.
