So what do yall think? Did I come off as intelligent and make our side look good? Or like a gun nut freak? Did I miss anything? Did I say to much?

I have been a pro 2A, constitutional fundimentalist since I was born, but I have never been good at keeping my cool when debating with stupidity. I tend to get my blood pressure up pretty easy when people can't see the obvious:mad:

On the whole, y'all did okay.

There is the whole "spitting into the wind" problem with Paradoxical Cat, though. I mean, "there wasn't any militia for 100 years." Oh, boy. This one is knee deep in propaganda. Oh, and "self defense is not a right." Well, not if you live in England.

Your arguments were sound, but "pearls before swine" and all that.

You even garnered some agreement -- always a good thing.

Glad you're out there keepin' the faith.

Great post on that other site. Just thought you might want to know that many more states have now enacted no retreat laws including Kentucky

that's awesome. I knew a few states were considering it, I just wasn't sure which ones or if any had passed it

That dude "Paradoxical Cat" must be Sarah Brady in real life:

"Tell you what, ordinary citizens aren't smart enough to exercise any sort of self-restraint, either. I know, I deal with them."

That's the way all anti's think: If you have a gun on you, you will use it every time you are offended, dissed, angered, or get slow service in a restaurant. It is always sad to hear such blather, but to hear it out of the mouth of a fellow "sportsman" is truely heart-breaking.:(

They're a great group of people over on AT for the most part. If any of yall are into archery and bowhunting as well as firearms, check it out. There are however, a few of the "I don't care as long as I can still shoot a bow" crowd:banghead: We're working on that though:D

I think you did great but one thing that you might try, I recently stumbled upon this Memorandum Opinion for the Attorney General about the 2nd Amendment. It is extremely impartial and there is really no way to argue with the opinion. I would suggest referring someone to it if you think they will actually read it. Instead of trying to pound the information into their heads and frustrating ourselves in the process, I would just tell them that regardless of our opinions the 2nd amendment is what it is. Whether they like it or not and until they make another amendment to the constitution the argument is meaningless. I would suggest everyone read this as it may prove beneficial or even improve your understanding of the history behind it.
