Does any one know who makes a replacement barrel for a Winchester 1892 lever action chambered in 44-40? I believe its a "trapper" version due to the short barrel length.

Thanks

Gunparts lists a 16" .44-40 barrel for an 1892. Sold out, naturally. Wouldn't hurt to ask 'em though.

If it is the inside of the barrel that is bad, .44-40 is low pressure enough that the barrel can be lined. Brownells sells the liners for a bit over $100, and they also have the reamers. That way you can keep all the original markings and finish intact.
