I decided to replace the two-piece three screw trigger guard on my Win 70 with a Williams Firearms one-piece assembly. While I was in the "upgrade" mode (complete transformation thread to be posted upon completion:D ), I added a Jewell trigger. As I did the final mock-up prior to stock finishing, I found that the Jewell trigger does not fit in the trigger guard. I emailed Williams and the VP responded, saying that I was the second person in a week to question this. He stated that it was the understanding of their company that the Jewell should fit, but after the inquiries, it is evident that some "modification" must be done on the trigger guard in order for a Jewell to fit. After paying $130 for the blued one-piece assembly, the last thing I want to do is whittle on it with my Dremel, as he suggested. :fire:

Williams has a pretty good reputation in the custom rifle community, based in part on their VP's active participation/marketing on another gunboard. My view is that (1) Dremels have no place in your modification and (2) Williams ought to modify your guard and re blue, or otherwise make you whole.
