Picking up a Walther P22 on Friday. The thing is cute as a bug and it has me temporarily distracted from picking up a Ruger 22LR. Just curious as to how well other shooters' P22's are holding up under heavy use.

Particularly interested in range rental guns and other guns that see heavy daily use...and shall we say less heavy daily cleaning?

I know that some Rugers have round counts in the tens of thousands. How does the new kid on the block hold up as far as long-term reliability? Thanks in advance!

The Walter P22 I picked up a while ago has gone through a 2-3K rnds and is holding up very very well. It shoots very accurately and has been bloody reliable. With Stingers...it comes with me in my pocket at times. Its that reliable.
shoot well

My P22 does light strikes with most ammo (about 1 per each
100 rounds fired). Also when used in cold weather it sometimes has reloading problems when using normal velocity ammo.

High velocity ammo works almos 100%. Especially Minimags, not a single failure with them so far.

Also heard that in rental use the muzzle screw may become loose if not tightened once a while. This ofcourse leads to significant problems when the gun is fired and the muzzle is not in place

Nice gun, anyways, but I still count on my USP for reliability.
