For those wanting to organize or find a car pool use this thread. Please post the city you'll be leaving from, when you'll be coming/going to/from the shoot, and any other neccessary info (no smoking, small kids, etc).

ok, i'll start.

it's still a little early and there's a chance work could interfere. i'd say i'm 90% at this point.

I'll be traveling 1,015 miles on I-40 from Cookeville, TN to Amarillo, TX, then northwest to Raton. Should be able to meet anywhere along that route. I'll be driving a truck with room for two or three more.

Google thinks it's an 19 hr trip, so I figure I'll leave Cookeville around Thursday noon. That'd put me in Memphis around 6pm, eastern OK by midnight. But i'm flexible.

no smoking, gun handling, rap music in the car. also, i rarely exceed the speed limit.

M67 from Norway is going to be there. (Now doesn't that make you guys whining about driving a couple hundred miles feel bad? :) ).

Anyway, he'll be flying into DIA on Wednesday and wanted to meet some of us from So. Colo. and maybe carpool to Whittington on Friday. Also, he'll need some assistance buying ammo after he gets here.

I'm not coming for just this get together of course, I'm going to make a vacation of it and travel around the Southwest for a couple of weeks, so I'll need to rent a car for the trip anyway. Anyone got a tip on where to get a good deal on a rental car?

Arkie, that's an 8 1/2 hour hop from Oslo to New York, a 4 hour skip to Denver and a short jump from there to Raton. Since I'm hoping someone will let me shoot their guns, I don't know what I need, I just thought I needed to arrange for ammo somehow. A foreigner trying to buy his own ammo in post 911 America is probably not a good idea? That's why I thought I could meet someone and work it out on the way to the range. Or maybe someone can bring a few extra rounds for me to shoot and I can pay for whatever I use. Anyway, there's plenty of time to iron out the details about that as well as the rest of my trip.

And this thing really needs to change its name. It's an international get together. :cool:

I'll bring a few more rounds for you and you can shoot what I have. I'm bringing pistols and rifles to play with.

I am seriously considering going with my son. My wife is even encouraging me to go :D

I will be taking my Jetta which gets 40MPG if someone wants to share fuel costs. The route will either be through Wyoming or Colorado from northern Utah. I am flexible on leaving and returning times. My thoughts are to head out on Friday and come back Monday.

I am a non-smoker but can stop for breaks if the urge strikes:evil:
