with all respect to the moderators, are they trying to close it? There are so many locked threads I feel as if might just quit visiting it and just focus on the other great discussions on THR. Granted some of the discussions do need to be locked, but look at all of them. Don't get me wrong, the THR is the best forum on the net as far as I am concerned. Please don't take offence.

Which threads were ones you felt didn't warrant closure?


We can't control what threads members start the aren't appropriate, and we can only influence the direction of ones that have value. We usually try to guide ones that start to go entirely off track or become incendiary, and when possible we delete isolated posts that do begin to derail a thread. You don't see that as a member, but we do. But when the fire takes hold, our last resort is to close them.

I really don't mean to criticize the moderators, I was just curious as to why there were more locked threads in Strategies and tactics than the other forums on THR. I certainly don't want to argue and please accept my apologies if I worded things wrongly. I was not really refering to any particular thread. Hope we're still friends.

Mike, no offense taken.

S&T has had more than its share of nonsense and off-topic threads in the past. Jeff has a vision for it, and I support it. At one time S&T was a good technical forum; chatter and banter brought down the quality of that sub-forum. We're in the process of getting it back on track. Any thread closure here should not be taken personally. If someone needs to be chided, we do it via PM.
