I caught the bug that's going around! It took me some time to find one but I finally was able to get a hold of a dealer on the firing line forum that had 5 sig P228 CPO's for sale. Was able to pick one up for $519 shipped (from Anchorage). I'll probably be sorry later that I didn't buy another one. :)

Great gun - I did the same by buying a CPO from a guy on SigForums.

I then went ahead and picked up some Nill grips for it - very pricy, but they sure feel amazing (and look darn good too).

I wish I could let the guys on the sig forum know about this but my member registration doesn't work. I've been working for a couple weeks to find someone with a P228 and I wanted to buy from a business rather than send money to someone I don't know.

I've had my '90 model West German SIG-SAUER 9m/m P228 since October of 1998. I truly love the balance and feel of this great firearm; so much so, that
it is currently the only 9m/m that I own~!;) :D

Just bought a CPO 228 that I'm waiting on, and also still waiting on my 225 from SIG (SSP and nitron slide). No sigs to shoot =:(

twidling thumbs hurts.

I got a CPO 228 from the same dealer last year. Mine is at a local shop getting its extractor replaced and an inspection. Sig's customer service rep kept insisting it was a stiff recoil spring and it just needed to be left with the slide locked back for a couple days. After lots of runaround and arguing, they finally agreed to send me a new extractor. I really hope it works properly when I get it back. I want to see how good the 228 can be (and I don't want to have to deal with their customer service again).

I've had really crummy luck lately getting lemons. I hope yours works!
