As an Ohio resident, could I buy a shotgun in PA without any problems?

Would I have to go through some odd contortions to bring it back? I'm just planning a vacation in PA and might try to scrounge around some gun stores on the way, might see something nifty that I want ;-)

Open to confirmation here but ...... assuming shotgun requires usual yellow sheet (haven't bought one from a store - only private ...... otherwise only rifles and handguns) ...... then dealer you buy from would have to ship to your home FFL. Usual state to state deal.
So my unanswered question currently is what paperwork the shotgun would require for purchase. Someone will know this I am sure.

A friend and I (on different occassions) had purchased long guns (rifles) at the Expo Mart near Pittsburgh without any unusual steps taken. Just a regular over the counter from a dealer sale. This is back when I lived near Cleveland. Have also puchased (long guns) from Indiana and Michigan without any addidtional stuff to do.

Long guns are ok in another state, handguns OTOH need to be shipped to a FFL in your home state
Greg (usual legal "don't believe me - check with a lawyer" disclaimers apply here :D )

Hmmmm ... still wondering here ... I won a rifle last year and the guy who FFL'd for it was in WA ..... he shipped to me VIA my FFL ...... not direct.
Maybe different is it if I purchase in person .. yep .. guess that's it cos of the yellow sheet.
I hope to be at Dallas Market hall gun show Sat 14 .... and hopefully then if I get a rifle or two (non-handgun anyways) I should be good to go without using my own FFL.?

AFAIK, between TX and PA should be OK. Not aware of any states between the two that ban particular firearms like CA and NJ that might be a problem, even if just passing through. You should be OK, unless you're muling drugs or hauling illegals.:)

I did a similar deal last year. Two FFL's told me that nothing was required for a face-to-face private deal on long guns.

I live in DE a state that borders Pa.
Pa law says thatan FFL can sell a longun to someone in a bordering state It must be face to face. This may also be a federal law. So Ohio is ok.
This does not apply to handguns which must be transfered by FFL in your state of residence.
