After seeing the price, I'm glad that my passion is double-action Colts and not SAAs.

Last fall I bought a 1931 Officers Model Match revolver w/ box for one-tenth the price of that SAA.

If that were mine there's no way in hell I would let it go for $5000. Just a guess but I bet it tops out over $8000.

Those old Colts are known to cause halitosis, impotence, psoriasis, flatulence and fallen arches. Tell the seller to send it directly to me so I can properly dispose of it.

A genuine 1st generation Colt SAA in .357 Magnum in the original condition, with the original box, would be worth a bit over $8,000.

Based on the seller's reputation, I am willing to bet that the item on offer is no such thing.

Look at this one: Colt 1903 Pocket Model M .32 Caliber LNIB W/docs (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?item=66046408).

How lucky of Scott Grote to get his hands on two mint, boxed prewar Colts.

At $6475 someone got a hell of a deal if you ask me.

Michael,

What do you mean by the sellers reputation? The name is familiar to me but I don't know where from, a forum maybe? He has a good deal of positive feedback.

I was confused too Mike until I read the third link your first post. Sounds like he is a bit of a fruit cake to say the least.

My bad for not reading the links in the first post. Now I remember the name. I'll encourage others to avoid him.
