Barami Hipgrip Users

Thinking about a set of these for my Taurus 605. How well do they fill the hand? Are they about comparable to the Smith/Wesson factory grips? I like the Square Butt wood stocks on my wifes Model 36 and they fit my hand pretty well. Is there that much of a difference?
Thanks!

The hip grips fill the hand pretty well. The right panel is a fair bit thicker than the left and fills the palm area. You may wish to invest in a T-grip as well. I also use a Hogue Hand-all jr. on mine as it makes the panels grippier. Stock hip grips are super slippery.

I used to carry a S&W-60 with a Barami & Tyler T-grip. Works good. The Barami plastic is slick - I wrapped the grip with the gauze-like tennis grip-tape & it gripped just fine. I've used this tape for other stuff too.
If your model has a hammer, & you've got a little gut, you might think about bobbing the hammer so it doesn't stick in your side... the Barami holds it in close, especially with a stiff belt.

I don't know about Tarus, but they work well combined with a Tyler Grip adapter on J frame Smith, Colt Cobra, and a Smith Mdl 13 RB.

ps. Is there such a word as 'meef'?:D

A picture of my Barami Hip Grips with Tyler T-Grips that I coated with clear Plastidip. This is my rough draft, I plan on thinning the Plastidip the next time to avoid bubbles, and will probably paint it on.

Hi Philvis,
The reason you have bubbles is you took it out too fast. You need to go R...E...A...L slow. Voice of experience.:fire:

Thanks 0311....I thought I was going pretty slow, but I guess I need to go even slower.

Barami Hip Grips are super-slick; both a blessing for not catching up on your cover garments, and a curse when trying to keep a fistful of .357 J-Frame center-of-mass on an IDPA target
I have seen several individuals use big lobster-claw rubber bands on their grips to help out with traction. A cheap and simple way to help the traction situation out a bit, and realistically the only one within my limited mechanical aptitudes.
If you scan my posts, you'll see I love HipGrips.....definitely worth trying to find a way to incorporate this accessory into your carry equation.

If you use a v-e-r-y light touch with a fine-tipped solder iron, you can "stipple" the surface of the Barami Hip grips very effectively; gives 'em the texture of fine sandpaper. If that's too rough, a light buff with very fine sandpaper takes the "edge" off, leaving the texture.
