Just got my 3 spring upgrade today that I bought off of Ebay for a big $4. Took about an hour to put in (note to self, don't take things apart unless you have diagram handy). Wasn't really expecting much since everyone I've talked to has told me what a waste of money it was. I must say I'm very surprised. They reduced the pull quite a bit, and even better made the pull nice and smooth. Unfortunately I then stripped the set screw out of my flash hider, so I've got to find a replacement for that now, but still all in all a good day.

Not sure, was thinking about getting a VQ hammer and then leaving it alone, but I think a more compact, ruber armoured scope would look better than the big Bushnell. Plus that would give me a scope without a gun and we all know what that means. Right now it will have to sit awhile, my VZ24 showed up today and it's going to take some time to get it up and running.

I did the VQ hammer and the synthetic bolt buffer. Both are vast improvements over the originals.

Very good choices, hammer and buffer. Shoot safe, be happy.

I've got the buffer, made a lot more difference than I thought it would as far as keeping on target. I also put a flash hider on it for weight, and that helps quite a bit, but the set screw stripped and it's some funky chinese thread, so I had to retap it. Now I've got to stop at the home depot for a new set screw. I put a removable bipod on it that I had left over from my SKS project, makes for a fun little rifle.

Hey Okie,

From the sounds of it I got the sames upgrade about a month ago, and it really shortened the pull. That was the cheapest upgrade I have ever put on a rifle and I was pretty surpised how well it worked. Which flash suppressor did you get, I want to get one for my next upgrade.

Did you get the extended mag release or one handed slide release? They are both worth investing in.

I'm not sure who makes the flash hider I bought, I just grabbed it at Cheaper than dirt last time I was in there. It's a two stage kinda thing with slots and holes that slips on around the front sight and is held on by a cheesy set screw. Cost me about 20 bucks if memory serves. Adds some needed weight to the factory barrel.
I've concidered the slide release, but I've got a couple of Eagle mags that work really well and have a slide thingy attached that works as a mag release, so I'm leaving the mag release as is.
As soon as I get my film devolped (yes, I still live in the stone age with a 35mm camera) I'll post a pic. I'm kinda proud of my first go at stock painting.
