Odd request perhaps, but could one of you guys take a picture of these grips from behind?
I'd like to get an idea of the thickness profile.
The standard combat grips seem to have a uniform thickness that increases toward the base.
If these have a more "Hogue-ish" belly swell, then I need to do some shopping...
Thanks,
Rick

Here is a picture from behind the grips. Your right, they do not have much gloss on them, if any. Treatment with linseed oil will do wonders for any old grips.

I think that Eagle makes some to replicate the feel of the, called Classic style. They're rosewood however and aren't checkered, and don't have the medallion. Avaliable for k and l frames.

Thanks, fellas.

I like the look of those a lot; they just look ... comfortable.
I see a dent in the gun budget in the near future.

Below are a few pics that show some of the differences between the Eagle reproductions and the original Cokes. "Cokes" were made for various guns from the 50s through the 60s. This set of repros does not have the S&W emblem which can be ordered.

The Eagle grips need to be fitted to a specific gun. In these pics they are on an M28, I did not fit them for this gun so there is a gap at the bottom rear. Fitting them is easy with careful work with a dremel though.

But as you can see other than the shape the Eagles don't match up in the quality of the wood or skill of their makeing. They work though and as original cokes are getting pricey, too pricey to have on a gun for carry IMHO the Eagles are one way to go. Nill grips also makes a repro, pricier than the Eagles but better looking.
