I finally recieved my Florida CCW and it was just in time.

Since we are heading out on a roadtrip from heck its gonna be good to have all the lower 48 covered for my travels.

So I will be doing alot of law reading the next few days.

That makes Arizona and Florida CCWs in the wallet so far.

Lennyjoe congrats on your FL.CCW.I've had my FL.CCW since 1987. It's sure nice carrying that extra insurance.Make sure you follow the guide lines that were sent with your permit.

Okay, I'll admit I'm being a little lazy tonight - I could probably look this up myself but will ask here first.

What does a person living outside of Florida do to get a Florida CCW, and how much freedom does that CCW permit give to people in other states - especially those that don't recognize the right to self-defense?

It gives you the freedom to carry in quite a few more states than just Florida.

Reciprocity is a great thing.

But you need to be aware of the carry laws of all the other states besides Florida or the one you have.

And for that reason I have been doing alot of reading and note taking before I leave on my cross country U.S. trip on Sunday.

Even went out and bought a good lockbox for the vehicle and will secure it down in tomorrow.

That way when I go thru unfriendly gun states I can secure it.

Been needing one for quite a while anyway.
