I have many screwdrivers and bits. My ambition is to organize them into groups for specific handguns. Are there any charts available that list the different handguns and the needed bit sizes to work on those particular guns.?

No such charts or information exists.

I have limited info on which Brownell's Magna-Tip bits fit Colt revolvers and the 1911 but that's all I'm aware of.

I was hoping for an easy way out. Guess I'll have to measure each one individually and go that route.

I've alway meddled around with three or four screwdrivers and my bench grinder. Reshape to "hollow ground", and several different widths.

To gild the lily, I've sometimes used my acetylene torch to heat the tip and then quench it in old motor oil. Seems to be helpful for hardening/carburizing. Doesn't hurt, anyway. :)

Do a search in the Midway catalog. About 15 years ago I bought a set of gun screwdrives from them and it came with a chart for which driver fit what screws on what gun. The set has about 8 drivers in it. I think the chart is still in my shop, today when I'm there I'll look for it.

Make sure you post the list, if you find it/make it...

Here is a link to the Forster web page that has the "Screwdriver Use Chart"

Hope this helps.

Majority of my screwdrivers are from Brownells by either Grace or the Brownells Magna-Tips. Midway carrys the Wheeler line, which I've no experience with. How do they (Wheelers) compare.?

FrankD, I don't know anything about the Wheeler stuff, I do have the Forster screwdrivers, a few sets of thir dies and their case trimmer and have found it to all be VERY GOOD stuff.
