Right outta the box for DAO I'd say Para Carry. That was one smooth, light pull.

I'd say probably some model of 1911. I've heard of some pretty light ones although I shoot mostly DAO.

Single action pull on a S&W 651 with lighter than stock mainspring. Way below 2#, but still not able to push off the hammer.
Stock S&W M29-3's. Single action pull just below 2#.

Easy:

A few S&Ws at 1 and 1/2 pounds SA
Ruger MK-II at 1 and 1/2 pounds
T/C contender at 7 ozs.

A few rich guys I shoot with have a few "euro-trash" .22s set as low as 14 grams. You can blow on the trigger and it will fire - not kidding! Are a some electronic triggers that can be tuned very low and there used to be ONE RUSSIAN gunsmith who they kept under lock and key; that could make a mechanical trigger work well - snow, sleet, rain or etc. Very important for those bi-athlon guys.

Some air-guns also have scary triggers.

Greeting's All-

Going against the grain a bit here, but MY vote would
have to go to MY Smith & Wesson 629-5 "classic" .44
magnum with a 5" tube.

It would also get MY vote for the same in the "double-
action" mode.

Best Wishes,

I have a Hämmerli 160 that I haven't adjusted the trigger on as the factory setting is fine with me - 30 g (1.06 oz). [Actually haven't tested to see if it is actually 30 g. Don't have anything that measures that low. Just taking the manual's word for it.] It is capable of being dailed down to 10 g, IIRC, and up to 100 g.

"T/C contender at 7 ozs.

Right about where my Contender has been worked to let release at. Mine was worked on by a competitive silhouette shooter.

Yet again, I gotta correct myself. It is actually a 30 g - 300 g range and a factory set of 100 g (3.53 oz).

My Contender had about an eight-ounce trigger. I still miss that gun!

My P7M8 and Beretta are both set at 4 lbs. The P7M8 feels lighter because you're squeezing on the grip itself already. The Beretta just feels light because it's smoooooth.

Bruce Gray does a thing to the HKs to bring it to 2 lbs or so with a really short reset.

My jurisdiction doesn't allow me to have a sub 4# trigger on my CCW.

The cz75 ispc model has less than 2# pull and is really crisp. Might get one someday.:)

My home built 9mm 1911. I have 1.5lbs, I use SVI hammer and sear combo and stoned it to shape the sear and hammer engagement. Its scary light!

Lightest I ever owned was in a Ruger Super Blackhawk 44mag. It was all the way down to zero. It would fire without touching the trigger. Just apply pressure to the back of the hammer. Best hair trigger I ever had.

I think it was due to my single action fanning technique being used a few times too many. Never had the hammer release accidentally or prematurely during use. Wouldn't have been a problem if it had since I was aware of the potential danger and never shot it in the company of others. Sold it to some guy who was itching to fix it.

Mine is the Anschutz Exemplar .22lr bolt action pistol for M.S. competition. It has an adjustable trigger. It came from the factory set at about 9 oz. It's a little lighter now.

The Exemplar (now the P64) is an Anschutz 64 bolt action with a 10 inch barrel on a wood (now plastic) handgun stock. Comes with a factory test target. Ten shots under 1/2" at 50 meters.

It is easy to mount a scope in the Exemplar. The P64 action has the standard groove for scope rings. It comes with easily adjustable open sights.

My Stainless Ruger SBH, with the Dan Wesson BBL conversion, has a one pound trigger. I was going to bring my 357 BHK down to one pound also; but, the eldest child was still shooting it occasionally and I didn't want him having an AD.

I hope those super light trigger pulls are kept on the range and that no one is using them on carry guns. If so, let me know where you are so I can avoid the place.

Considering the stress and tension involved in a potential or actual shootout, any trigger pull under 4-5 pounds is almost guaranteed to spray the neighborhood and/or blow off parts of the shooter's own anatomy.

I know I will get flamed for this, but anyone who carries a gun with a light trigger pull is dangerous and a threat to everyone around. I can't think of a better way to get carry permit laws revoked than for some idiot to kill a half dozen innocent people.

Yes, I know this doesn't apply to YOU. YOU will be calm and cool in a gun fight. YOU would never fire accidentally or out of fright. YOU would never be scared or under stress. YOU will never be glad you are wearing brown pants. If you agree with all that, YOU are a liar.

Probably the trigger on the High Standard Supermatic Citation I just found today. Earlier today it would have been the trigger on my High Standard Victor.

My P220 only holds 8 rounds. I'm not sure I'm that good of a shot.;)

Gotta agree with Jim. My 9mm 1911 mentioned above, is just limited for steel challenge competitions (less movement) and occasional plinking. My carry guns always have a minimum of 5lb trigger pull (stock Glocks). My IPSC guns has 3lb minimum.
I've been told before that trigger pulls are sometimes (or always?) cited on court trials involving shooting. So are other alterations/modifications to the firearm(s) used. And maybe ammo too? For my HD/SD guns, I keep mods to a minimum. They are almost stock!

That I have personally used, my S&W Nframes, which are about 2 pounds. I did have a Kimber stainless Gold match, that was around 2.5 lbs, by the time I installed a Wilson match sear.
The rest of my 1911's I try for around 4-4.5 pounds - good shootability, with safety. On a 1911 you normally have the safety on, so it's less likely you'd accidently touch one off, even if under stress, a struggle, etc.

Target guns are of course always shot under controlled conditions, so you can get silly in that game. If you might have to draw it from a holster in a hurry, to shoot bad guys or game, you don't really want one too light. I eventually sold the Glock, because I just wasn't comfortable with the trigger action as a defensive weapon.

Agree with Mr. Keenan completely.

For self defense, the trigger must have some weight to it.

The lightest trigger on a handgun I have is a cocked SP101 (only for target practice). I also consider the Ruger MKII target models trigger to be outstanding in this respect and this is my next purchase.

I am a minority perhaps on this site, but I really like Glock triggers. They work for me.

Mr Keenan....

Explain to me how if a trigger functions correctly and you don't put your finger on it until you have decided to fire how the wieght of pull makes any difference other than accuracy?

I have fired a gun in anger. Once I made the choice to shoot the trigger pull had NO IMPACT on the situation.

Does YOUR finger involuntarily jump onto the trigger and just pull it a little bit when you get stressed?

My Hammerli FP10 is somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 grams now, still a bit heavy but I'm not done experimenting yet.

I had a Tos free pistol that had to have been at 15 grams or less.

Since we have all these folks with free pistols (and here I thought ron and I were the only ones that saddistic), what scores are you folks getting with them?

2oz

Back in '76-77 I was shooting Handgun Metallic Silhouette and was using a Remington XP100 (basically a Model 700 bolt action) chambered for .308Win. I was using a 2oz trigger that I liberated form my bench gun.

Mastro,

Why are you looking for a pistol with the lightest possible pull? What are you using your gun for?
