Two morons arguing with each other. Mildly entertaining, but not a shining example of the "pro gun" side.

Ah, Phil Hendrie. What a hoot.
For those of you not in the know, it was a setup. Phil has a variety of characters that wind up as "guests" on the show. Phil does the voice of the guest and spouts all sorts of crazy stuff, baiting callers to call in and argue with him/them. At first, you wonder what kind of nuts are out there, but once you are in on it, it's a real hoot. My favorite is the guy from the Citizens Auxiliary Police.
I wonder where he gets a constant stream of new listeners.

PS. The link downloaded then failed when I opened it the first time. Then I right-clicked and saved the target to my PC and could listen to it from there.

The funny thing is people call the show and really think that he has all of these 'real' guests. Some people are either really like to get into argumentsor are lust plain stupid. I like to believe the latter of the two.

When the anti-gun guy kept interrupting the pro gun guy the conversation should have been over.
I refuse to debate ANYTHING with someone who is having a one sided conversation.

I would agree that the host could have done a better job of articulating our side. He should have expanded "I'm teaching them to shoot good" to "I'm teaching them safe handling and what it means to be a responsible gun owner, along with how to shoot well."

Heh,
Let's see ya do better. http://www.philhendrieshow.com/
Phil specializes in provoking folks who are wrapped too tight. Those decent, god-fearing, hard working, self-rightious, salt of the earth folks, ya know... morons. ;) Those that get the joke, enjoy laughing at those who like hearing their preaching so much they miss the obvious clues.

That must make the godless, lazy, unfunny, Kommiefornian degenerates, the geniuses of the world.
I'll stick to being salty. Thanks anyway.

I get Phil's little joke, I just don't find it funny.
I'll stick to being a fussy, uptight b****rd. I'm much happier that way:D

I would venture to say that those who dont find Hendrie's show funny, have never listened to it before.
Either that, ot they themselves are one of the ones that make the show so funny.

I would venture to say that those who dont find Hendrie's show funny, have never listened to it before.A simple test of whether he is funny or not has been conducted right here.
The only people that found the "gun debate" funny, were those that know who this Hendrie guy is. If he was "funny", the rest of us would have been amused. Instead, I was only able to listen to about 30 seconds of that garbage before nuking my media player into oblivion.
What is in the water out there in Kommiefornia anyway?

As for funny...Hendrie is, and unbelievably talented at that...whether or not that particular skit is funny, is up to the listener.
But all in all, I have a riot whenever I listen to Hendrie...But please, leave your brain at the door when listening.

Hendrie is awesome. Sometimes his stuff is garbage... but other times it is so funny that your laughing your butt off, tears down your cheeks, pain in your sides... for real "ROTFLMAO" funny.
I remember the first time I heard him... I didn't know what it was... but the guy (Hendrie doing a character) was talking about putting his wife to sleep because she was in so much pain from some illness. The story kept getting worse and worse and it turned out that he murdered her with a pillow over the face because she had a headache and didn't cook him dinner. OMG! I was laughing so hard.
See, Hendrie "Fishes" with his topics trying to piss people off to get them to call in. If the story isnt working, he takes it up a notch. An escalation of force so to speak. It's the callers that are the funniest... and the way Hendrie verbally fences with them.
He is BRILLIANT.

Well said George,
I didn't want to offend anyone, just making an observation on how we look at what's funny to us. I'm wrapped tight on several subjects, and would be suckered in if I'd never heard him before. It's that subject that drives ya wild he's looking for. Much different than the Jerky Boys, in he offends listeners to call him! :)
When he's doing an ensemble piece, no radio comic can touch him. Folks have wrecks on-air, going crazy into their cell phones. My favorite is when he does a 'remote' broadcast, that is of course just a looped tape of sample noise. He plays Bud Dickman, the 'tarded intern, who fails to go to commercial leaving Hendrie's off-air cussing on-air for all to hear. The he plays David G. Hall, the programme director, calling him on the carpet in front of the audience. Then he adds in characters like Booby Dooley and her husband Steve, both psycho So-Cal Water drinkers. ;)
He juggles half a dozen voices, a caller trying to make their point to "these lunitics", and the sound effects, all at once. It's breathtaking comedy... in my opinion, of course. :D
