I'm considering ordering the Double Agent Dual Position Holster (https://secure.aaa-servers.com/epsaddlery.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=65) from El Paso Saddlery Co. Does anyone have any experience with them or with that particular holster specifically?

an 'N' Frame S&W revolver and a 3" 1911. Well made and very substantial holsters. El Paso has been around a long time.

Thanks, Ezypikns. They look spectacular, but it's hard to judge function on the Internet. I do like the idea of being able to switch it over to cross draw when I make that long drive from Minneapolis to San Antonio and back.

Long time meaning, IIRC, S.D. Myres, their precursor/founder, made Patton's famous dual-holster gunbelt.
I've been thinking about asking them for a quote on building a full Patton rig myself.

Usually a long wait for your leather.

I kind of gathered a long wait was fairly standard for the higher quality stuff. I'm in no hurry.

I have a number of holsters from El Paso Saddlery. All of them are made of high quality leather and are wonderfully stitched.
Two of them were such works of leather art, I have not used them; I do not want to scratch them up! One is a Cheyenne, the other is a N frame Three Persons. They have the pigskin lining and I asked for the fishscale stamping. Hard to describe how wonderful my holsters look. I cannot image anything more stupid than to pay over a $100.00 for a holster and be afraid to use it. But that describes me.
After ordering at least ten of their holsters, I can recommend pigskin lining and the fishscale stamping. It just looked better than the basket weave.
I got to visit El Paso saddlery and got the nickel tour. The walls were hanging with aluminum pattern guns, holster patterns, and the leather smell was just great. The hand carving is exactly that. They told me the guy who did the hand carving was a 70 year old Hispanic Gentleman who worked out of his house, watching Hispanic Soap operas during the daytime. His floral patterns are as expressive as the histrionics in the Operas.

I have a few EPS holsters, they're my favorite brand of leather makers, although I have other name brands. This is the fanciest, and I do use it, but admittedly not for rough and tumble hikes:

The gun is a S&W model 18 (.22) with Roy Fishpaw western maple grips.

I've got a Street Combat #88 with basket weave and pigskin lining for my 2" Ruger SP-101. And I thought mine was nice until I saw Bullet Bob's. WOW ! That's some kind of handsome there, Bob.
Wait time was somewhere between 6-8 weeks.....not too bad, but there was not much detail work to be done on mine. It is one of my favorite holsters.

I have one of their Street Combat holsters for a 640. It is an acceptable holster. It is suede lined, which makes it thicker than I like. It appears to me that the leather, other than the suede, is somewhat thicker than that from some other makers such as Sparks, Brommeland, and other top makers.
Overall, I would pay more and wait longer to get one from the best.
Best,
Jerry

Thanks, y'all. I ordered the Double Agent plain. I gave serious thought to the basket weave pattern because I think it's awfully sharp looking. In the end, though, I like clean simple lines. Perhaps one day when I have a "dress gun" I'll get something ornate, but until then, I'm looking for a functional beauty, a workhorse.
Again, I'm new here and it means a lot that y'all are willing to be so helpful. I appreciate it.
