I have a Winchester 1300 Defender with the fiber optic front site. I got it at a good price. It doesn't have a rear sight. The camp models do. I was wonder if it worth the money to add one. I've tried to shoot slugs at a distance with it and feel that I could use one. In a defensive shotgun course at household distances, I was fine but shooting at 100 yard target, I could see the need. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

If your planning to hunt with it, yes. For HD, I think it's not needed - very little call for slugs in HD situations anyway. Too much penetration.

Let us know how it works out if you add the rear sight.
