It looks like this might not have the dreaded lock.....If that's the case I'll be using my upcoming bonus to pick one up while I can, then I can justify the purchase of a .44 levergun!

What do you guys think?

Yes it has the lock. I just picked up this NIB 3" 629 with no lock for a lot less than a new one:

The smith on their website is showing the left-handled side. If you were to flip this over to the right handed side and look by the cylinder release you would see the lock. All of smiths newer guns feature the lock, and can befound by the cylinder release.

I don't like the lock but on this one I do not care. It is a keeper!

Well, Seven For Sure, I found that one at a local shop. If I find any more, and don't buy them myself, I'll let you know. :D
