Basically it's confirmation for what most of us here know already, the media, academia and many of the "american aristocracy" choose to either ignore or attack the Second Amendment depending upon what serve their purpose at that time. It also is no suprise to most persons that the SCOTUS refuses to give any consideration at this time to cases involving the Second Amendment.
It is my personal belief that barring a significant change in the SCOTUS towards a more fundamental view of law as related to history they will continue to avoid this issue at all costs. To the SCOTUS 2A issues are the "third rail" of politics that can kill you politically no matter which way you rule. The solution is to ignore it if at all possible.

To the SCOTUS 2A issues are the "third rail" of politics that can kill you politically no matter which way you rule.On the other hand, the intention of an independent judiciary was to allow them to make these decisions, since they don't have to worry about politics, just the constitution.
