Mossberg 500 for $200

My buddy has a Moss 500 with 4 chokes and a slug barrel that he is offering me for $200. I haven't seen it nor shot it, but assuming it's in decent shape, is this a good deal?

All things being equal, sure. I bought mine new w/ a factory synthetic stock but otherwise plain jane 12 ga. cyl. bore for 220.00 new almost 16 years ago (as a point of reference).

New what he's got is probably about 325-350(?).

the slug barrel is worth whatever people will pay for it. ebay is a good measure of what people are willing to pay. slug barrels go for between 65-100 usually. ive never seen one sell for 200. sorry.

zookrider, Big 5 stores have a mossy 500 combo on sale right now, with an extra 181/2" bbl. for I think $215. Check that out too.

If it's in good shape, then grab it. With 3 extra choke tubes it is a good deal!

If both of the barrels are "ported" they are the "newer" ones. Make sure he has the choke tube wrench to remove / replace tubes and check the inner barrel threads on the shot barrel.
