Does anyone have any experience with this gun? I know that they were made by Tanfoglio, the same company that makes the current Witness line. Just wondering if their were any problems with them or any real difference between them and the Witness or CZ75.

The were imported by Springfield and were decent guns.I heard they were made in Italy.Springfield stopped selling them, but not for any flaws in the gun.Springfield went bankraupt and didn't pay any of their suppliers so obviously they couldn't buy any more from the Italians.

They needed to fill their DA 9mm line so now they import the XD from Crotia.CW

One note, which is Tanfoglio made lotsa frames and parts, some of which aren't fully compatible, like AT-84, with their other products or CZ.

This leads to some strange combos of workable parts, such that a CZ extractor might work in one of the Tanfoglio clones, but not one from another Tan clone. The same safety may work in both clones, but not in the CZ, and so forth.

Fact is, even some CZs aren't fully compatible, and this means things other than the FP safety block changeover to the B model (mag wells on early CZ are more narrow and the sight dovetails are more narrow, etc.)

I had one with the 2 chamber factory comp on a threaded barrel in 40. Just sold it, never found time to shoot it since I've been shooting in formal matches. Great gun. Shot anything you'd put in the mag, but it liked the hot stuff best. Comps really do work wonders. I do know if you plan to do a lot of shooting you need to keep an extra slide release handy. ;) Seems to be the only weak link.

The P9 is an excellent gun. It was just getting started with Competition and such based guns when SA went Kaput!

The frame and slide were made by Tan. in Italy and assembled in the states by SA.....one of the better all around clones.

Get it......lots of parts are around......

BTW....ALL CZ's ARE hand fitted except the PO1 ...so if a gun takes parts from another gun...you got lucky.

Shoot well

so if a gun takes parts from another gun...you got lucky.

Somehow, mag releases, slide stops, safeties, etc. don't strike me as hand fitted parts. Sears and hammers? Yes.
