Well I am looking to get a SA Mill-spec (not the GI). I use to see them for around $350 or so, now folks are charging like $500+, any online shops where I may find some decent prices? Thanks

Check out the new RIA "tacticals". Got mine for $375+tax. All the creature comforts SA would charge you $650+ for a "loaded" model and none of the laywer locks.

Go to www.1911forum.com and browse the "other" forum, where you'll find generally very happy owners and near universal resolution of any problem guns. The company's US rep hangs out there as user "Blackdragon".

Actually they were in the $3xx range 3 or 4 years back. I bought my Milspec for $399 4 years ago.

I picked up something called a Springfield "Defender Model," last week for $450, used but barely fired. Gun shop in Vandalia, OH. I still don't know what in the world a "Defender Model," is, but it looks and smells like a Mil-Spec to me. Except of course for the fact that it says defender model in large letters on the left of the slide.
