The father of a woman I work with is in the final stages of Alzheimers, so she and her brother and sister are getting his estate in order.
In his home he has many stuffed animals (not teddy bears, but taxed hunting trophies). Among these are several animals that are now considered "endangered" and not legal to kill and stuff anymore (the animals where stuffed long ago and where legal at the time). I am left with the impression that one of these is a stuffed bald eagle.
Her problem is that she doesn't know what to do with them. She's afraid if she calls some authority to find out what she is allowed to do (and/or obligated to do) with the stuffed animals that they will show up and start handing out felonies (even possessing a bald eagle feather is a felony if you're not a Native American Shaman or something).
She would hate to see them destroyed, and if possible would like to donate them to a museum.
Anyone have any idea what to do with them?
