[Alice Gene is the Legislative Associate for the Texas State Rifle Association ... great lady. Please blow this poll away (delete cookies ...), and let Governor Perry know the great state of Texas deserves to remain free. See www.tsra.com for more.]

Subject: Concealed Handgun Law at risk in Texas (pass this on, Please)

http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/news/60503_local_guns.html

Please copy and paste the above web address. It's a current poll in the Houston Chronicle urging Governor Perry Not to Sign SB 501 and it's only 1% ahead in favor of signing.

There are 222,000 Texas Concealed Handgun Licensees at present and 33,000 are in Harris Co. We all need your help.

SB 501 restates that the power to regulate Concealed Hangun Licensees in Texas comes from the State Legislature and not from random subordinate governmental enitities making it up as they go.

Please go to this poll as it will be a tool to influence the Governor and then, in addition, write Governor Perry and urge him to sign SB 501 into law. There is no "sure thing" until that happens and we have until June 22 to be concerned.

Contact information for the Governor and a list of signed bills is at: www.governor.state.tx.us

Also urge support for HB 3477 to move CHL reciprocity agreements from the DPS to the Attorney General's office. HB 284 to allow eligible adults to lawfully carry a handgun in their travel trailer or RV as an extension of their home. HB 1704 to allow new residents to Texas to immediately apply for a Texas Concealed Handgun License under the current non-resident provision of Concealed Handgun Law.

Thank you for your help and please pass this information to others.

Where do you vote? It only shows the results of the poll, but no button to click on.

I would just like to say you can vote if you like, however, if you live in Texas you should be e-mailing or writing the governer. I myself e-mailed him in support of SB 501. So everyone needs to do their part.
