will my G30 be able to shoot 10 mm?

Can this change be made as a drop in, or is other work required?

No. Slide's breech face is wrong size, will not function. I do believe that if you purchased a complete G29 10mm upper(slide and barrel) it would fit on your G30 frame. You would also need 10mm magazines.

Slide swap is the only way to do this. Also, the extractor angles and relief would differ for rim thickness, rebate, etc.
