I have determined that my Applejam Applebee's restaurants will be consistent with our parent company's (Applebee's International) practice of not posting signs prohibiting licensed, concealed handguns. Dear Mr. DeAngelo:
It has been brougnt to my attention that your restaurant policy excludes legally licensed CCW permitees from carrying their weapons as patrons.
Surely you must be aware of two relevant facts:
1. Anyone with criminal intent will ignore your request, perhaps to commit another atrocity similar to what happenes at the Luby's in Killeen.
2. CCW holders have been background checked and have received training in the use of their weapons. They are not a threat and might even prevent a Luby's/Killeen event from happening.
Please reconsider your position on this policy.
