I turned in my application (and check) at 0815 on May 28, and my permit was sitting on the kitchen counter when I arrived home after work today. 'Twas issued and printed yesterday (05 JUN).

This is from Kandiyohi County, in case other Minnesotans wonder where I am. I've had ~15 denials over the last 3-4 years; no more!

The application process was quite pleasant, too. I was the second person to apply that day - the first day of the new law.

You got lucky. Some counties are not processing until the BCA got their list of approved trainers listed on their web site, and that just went up yesterday. If the instructors did not get his/her name on the list by the time 30 days is up, your application may still get rejected. Even though you have a NRA certificate, or some other approved course, I was told the instructor signiture had to be verified. This is through the internal rumor mill of instuctors, so take this info for what it is worth. I was told by my county that they had 30 days to process applications, and that the permits will go out in 30 days, so again, you may have gotten lucky.

I'm from Tennessee, where the permits are good state-wide. I am getting the impression from what I've read, that your permits are good by County only -- Is this correct ?

Will adjoining Counties grant reciprocal rights ?

The permit is good state wide. You have to get it issue to you by the county you live in though.

9 days! I'm still waiting!

I was in bright and early on the 28th. And they HAVE to accept the class I took, since it is specifically mentioned in the statue :D

I'm in Wright County.

Minnesota has a "state permit" issued by county sheriffs. It's "effective throughtout the state."

It's even effective in county buildings in Hennepin county!
