Was watching Scarborough on MSNBC tonight and on the ticker under the picture it states that a man had been arrested in Washington, DC for possession of "unregistered ammunition". It went on to state that he was initially stopped because he had a gas can strapped to the top of his car. It then stated that the man had "voluntarily" given a shotgun shell to the police.
I went to the Washington Post site but could find nothing on this story.
You have to register ammo in DC???
Anyone got anything on this story?

Not on the story, but yes, you have to register ammunition in the People's Republic of Columbia.

In some states, you need licenses to buy ammunition; in others, you need to present your driver's license, and the sale is recorded.

I have some ancient ammo I will never useI remember a similar question being asked in the past and the consensus was that it wouldn't be a good idea because it might be incorrectly perceived as a death threat.

If I'm not mistaken, mailing ammunition would be a felony. Probably shouldn't mess with felonious behavior.
