Help with S&W DOB

I just picked up a Model 60 .38, no +p. The serial number is ABT8***.

I tried to join the S&W forum, but I can't b/c of my e-mail address. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

The serial number is on the bottom of the grip frame and should start with an "R".

You may have to remove the grips if they are covering it up.

ABL4000 was Jan 1983 and ADE6700 was Oct 1983 so yours was sometime in between.
