Pistol gloves, shooting

Cheers,
I'm breaking in a new Bersa UC .45acp. After 100 rounds, I can barely hold her. Yea, Im old, I'm arthritic, and I'm addicted to pistol shooting.
I can shoot my full sized 1911-A1 all day, but this little darling just kicks my a**!
I knew when I bought her she would be "wicked", but I like her, and I'm dam*ed sure going to master her.
So, I need recommendations for shooting gloves.
Thanks,
cr

Nike has some batting gloves that are thin and durable that I've considered using for shooting gloves.

It may seem like an odd solution, but my favorite range gloves by far are a pair of inexpensive fingerless wrist-wrap weight training gloves ( pictured ). They seem to give slight wrist support and they have padding in the right places, particularly in the palm swell. To this day I'm glad I thought to try these as shooting gloves, they work amazingly well. Not only that I make far better follow up shots due to less felt recoil when wearing them. They're really starting to fall apart and get ragged , but they saw a lot of use with weights in the years before I discovered their value to my shooting. Now they stay in the range bag.

EDIT: I did a search and found out they can be ordered here, http://secure.gofit.net/view_product.php?product=2645&x=24&y=14, in case anyone wants to try them out. If you do, and they work as well for you as they do for me.. just remember who told you about them :D

Used to be a company called P.A.S.T. that mfg. shoulder pads and gloves using a propritary silicon gel that was a really effective recoil absorber. Don't know if they are still in business, but if they are I can vouch for the effectiveness of their products..

Uncle Mikes is one of the best known companies and they make good gloves. You can get them in either orange or black. Mine are black and set me back about $25.

Cabelas has some house brand shooting gloves that are EXCELLENT.
I use them all the time when I'm shooting anything rougher than 357.

I don't want padding, so I use golf gloves. You can get them at most big box stores cheap. If you want padding (but not so thick or in the wrong places like weightlifting gloves), try GripSwell.
And tighter is better.;)

The Uncle Mike's gloves work fine for me, but my main reason for them is hammer bite on my Hi Power. It was cheaper and quicker than a new hammer, as I was about to go to the range when I realized I hadn't done anything. More than a year later, maybe I need to go ahead and order that hammer. :D

I like using Nike golf gloves. They come in half sizes, so you can get them to fit perfectly. No padding to mess up your grip, with just enough abrasion protection to make a long range session fun.
Good Luck...

I have a pair of black Mechanix gloves I picked up at the auto parts store. Fairly cheap and great for when I practice Force-on-Force with airsoft, too.

I just bucked up and got a pair of Uncle Mike's. Haven't shot with 'em yet, but I like the extended middle finger cause I shoot a lot of heavy .44 stuff out of my Rugers/Encores, and that middle knuckle is starting to bother me outside of shooting time! Any break I can get in that area I'm willing to try. I was dry-firing some last night with them on, and they didn't seem to be too bulky to where it would screw up my grip/feel for the weapons.
