Would like to know where I can get inexpensive ammo on the Web. None of the stores around my parts have what I need. Thanks.

What kind of ammo do you want?

Bulk russian 7.62X39 or match grade 300 ultra mag?

March 2, 2007, 11:06 AM is good for some things, remember the price includes shipping.

Wideners Reloading(don't have the address handy) has good prices on some ammo.

Sportsman's Guide is variable, but sometimes have pretty good prices on some ammo.

The term "cheap ammo" is rapidly becoming an oxymoron.

I just bought some Wolf hollow point from Cheaper Than Dirt for 3.79 for a 20 round box. When I called, they had it listed at 4.75, which is still a good price, but they gave it to me at 3.79 since that's what the catalog listed.

AIM surplus are good people.

When i first joined THR, i asked this same question, and bookmarked every one of the above links listed by other members.

There must be some special trick that some of you older gentlemen have perfected, because 95% of the sites you list either have nothing available, or its a LOT cheaper at Widener's (

To confirm to myself that I wasnt talking out of my ass, I checked very quickly Ammoman, Natchezss, and Cheaper Than Dirt. Widener's still was cheaper. However... our standards on what defines "cheap" are probably different and previous posters may have different ideas on that subject. So its probably subjective.

Georgia Arms ( My next bulk purchase of .308 is going to be Canned Heat. The good surplus is all but gone, and the not so good surplus is drying up as well.

I found the cheapest way to get 9mm range ammo are the 100 round WWB at Wal-Mart. I would be willing to bet 45 would be the same.

That's what I've found. My current .45 ACP practice ammo is 100-rd. packs of "Wally World Bullets" (Winchester White Box).

Keep and eye on them all. There is a lot of volatility in the market and brief specials pop up without notice. Most of what I look at is military rifle calibers, which have been the hardest hit and the hardest to find. If someone offers email notification when something comes in, that helps also.

I always shop around, I have 4 or 5 places I like best and are close enough to minimize shipping charges.

Hope this helps.

I work at one of these sites recommended. I didn't think it would right to post our sites name, I want to be part of the community, not make you guys and gals, feel like I'm here just to promote our business. I feel we do a great job, as well as can be expected in these trying times. We're very fair on our prices and we are very honest. We never screw anyone out of anything. We never charge your Credit Card until we ship. If that's not good business, then I don't know what is.

Thanks again, hope to meet you guys on the phone in the future.

Things are even tougher than when this was first posted, as many can attest. I would suggest doing an internet search, Google or whatever, on the caliber and load you're after. I've found a few cubby holes on the web after wading through forum posts, websites specializing in militaria or whatever but not ammo, that did post that they have an odd lot or can of ammo of a particular type. Many times something will go unnoticed many months and you may be able to snag a real prize. Like a full case of 6.5 Swede or USGI .30 Carbine...:D
