Guns used by idiots

I started the thread about hiding serial numbers and it had me ruminating on some crimes committed by idiots in the past. I have always remembered reading in a news magazine about 20 years ago that there was a bank robber in the southeast US that went into a bank with a gun and a note. The teller looked at the gun pointed at her and read the note: "give me your do" (he meant 'dough'). She gladly handed him an envelope of money, and he left. When the police arrived to investigate, they discovered that the note was written on the back of the robber's pay stub from work, with his address. They drove over to the robber's house and picked him up.
Any interesting 'idiot' stories that you would like to share?

Never said he was the sharpest tool in the drawer. Heard where one fellow used a deposit slip from his checkbook (turned out to be with the same bank, but different branch). Lock those boys up before they hurt themselves.

I remember this one on the news a while back, a robber with a gun came into a gas station and demanded all the money from the cash register, the employee gave him the cash, but before leaving he took a bucket of double bubble chewing gum from the counter in front of the register, after leaving the premises ( this guy did not have a car ) he went on a bubble gum chewing spree, walking mind you, not running, on the way back to his house. When the police got there and the employee told them what he took, they went out in the parking lot and noticed the bubble gum wrappers, the guy left a trail of wrappers all the way to his front door a few blocks away. The robber turned out to be a teenage punk kid. :D

Story from Knoxville a few weeks ago... guy walks into a bank and demands all the money. Tellers comply with the bg's orders and then watch as he calmly walks outside and gets into a waiting limo. After some really easy investigation by the KPD, it is discovered that the guy had rented the limo as his getaway vehicle, under his OWN NAME, and then went and robbed the bank, telling the driver he was going in to "make a quick withdrawl". I guess it takes all kinds to make the world go round. But at least these guys give us more to laugh at than to be afraid of lol:banghead:

I don't recall the location of the heist but I remember reading an article in the news once about a dumb criminal. The guy, in a ski mask, walked into the bank brandishing a gun and demanding money. The teller handed him several thousand dollars of specifically marked bills, and the guy left. The very next day the guy returned to the bank with the same exact marked bills in the same amount taken and tried to deposit them into his personal account.
