Magazines with sharp corners hurt, at least for me. Many of the IWB mag carriers have this protective tab, but, so far, I haven't been able to find one for wear outside of the belt.

A lot of you guys and gals shoot in competition that require mag changes. What mag carriers do ya'll use that prevents the sharp corner of the base plate from tearing your shirt and then your hide?

Thanks,

salty.

:D

PCRCCW,

At this point, 'what suits you' is dang anything that keeps my shirts and worthless hide from getting torn.

Its ironic that the IWB magazine carriers have the tabs, but not the OWB carriers. So far, the only shop that offers this service is Horseshoe in England. Guess there are more fat guys in the Brittish Commonwealth than in the United States..? I dunno. He uses Pay Pal, of which I am not a large fan.

I'd like to have mag carriers with a secure clip/retention fastening gismo that'll clip onto a good OWB belt and a 'tab' that'll keep CZ and BHP mags from tearing my shirts, and my worthless hide.

I realise that you have a lot on your plate, do you care to add a bit more?

Thanks.

I just use a cheap nylon folding knife belt sheath, although the leather leatherman sheath offers horizontal or vertical mounting and a perfect fit for my PT-145 mag...

"Fat tab" ! LOL ... never heard it called that before but I agree that seems to be it's major function, at least for me.

BearClaw Holsters (http://www.bearclawholsters.com) seems to have those tabs on most of his mag carriers.

Thanks Lance,

The one that I saw on his web site was for a IWB mag carrier. Unless I'm missing something, mag carriers, unless they're 'tuckable', do not need to be IWB.

I've been mostly out of work for the last two years and, being the gold plated, certified couch potato that I am, have successfully added about ten pounds per year to my weight. Most of that increased mass is around the 'middle'. Maybe I can get a job as a 'stunt double' for the Michelin Tire Man.

Yeah, I agree ... even whem my holster is IWB, I usually don't use IWB mag carriers or I put my IWB mag carriers under the belt but not in the pants. Too much in the pants the way it is ;)

Just tell em you want tabs on the owb one's .. .doesn't anything extra.

As an aside, I just bought anothe pair of pants yesterday to make IWB carry easier ... my biggest waist size yet! $ 13.00 at Gander Mountain I feel pretty good about the purchase, and buying the pants seems a lot easier than saying "no" to Ben n Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream.
