I picked this up from a friend. It is in absolutly "like new" condition (in fact it looks totally unfired). My friend got it from an estate sale about a year ago and I know he hasn't fired it. The bluing is perfect (no blimished at all). Do you guys think $400 was a fair price?

Are you kidding ? I couldn't be more jealous. Beautiful find, and a ridiculous steal.

Indeed a steal. The grips are Ahrends, and sell new for about $60 themselves. Very nice.

No, I'm afraid your friend has taken advantage of you. However, being the swell that I am, I'll kindly send you $400 & S/H cost to take it off your hands....;)

Seriously, very nice 29 and congrats on a terrific deal!

I thought the new M29 had the lock, but I don't see it on this gun.

JAMZ that is because it is not a new gun. This 29 classic first came out in 91.

Ah, okay, I didn't realize there was an interim production- thought it was only the original and then the one that came out lately. Thanks for the clarification! :)

Zen, great gun at a great price!

That brings back memories! I used to have a 6 1/2" 29 Classic myself. I now have a 629 Classic. But the look of polished blue with a nice set of wood grips simply cannot be beat! Very nice! The price is a steal like the others said. The 29 Classic I had was also an incredibly accurate revolver.

Very pretty in blue! I paid $650 for my S/S, more durable [maybe] but ugly next to yours. :o

Fair Price???
I paid $429 brand new for mine back in 92. :D

Have you shot it yet? The single action trigger on mine is so light you have to simply think "squeeze" and it fires. Double action is like melted butter. Accuracy is so scary, it even makes me look like I know how to shoot a little.
See how many rounds it takes you to destroy water filled milk jugs at 100 yds. I'll bet by the first cylinder you're on it and you'll have to try to miss from that time on.

Whereas I typically prefer the non lugged look and slender barrel, that there 29 can shoot and look pretty good while doing it. Specially with those Ahrends on it. (I've got the Hogue rubber mono on mine)

Congrats. Sweet revolver.
