No, it probably would disintegrate before it penetrated any distance in the body. You want both expansion and penetration in a defensive round.

Nope.

While it has mass it could fall apart on the hard parts IE rib cage or skull.

I'm not sure about the "frangible" bullets just yet, but here's a couple of links to help you decide for yourself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frangible

not the ammo you are purchasing, but a similar frangible;
http://www.brassfetcher.com/glasertest1.html read the pdf on this page for more photos and his conclusion. (thanks JE223)

Let us know what you decide!!

I thought frangible (excluding MagSafe and Glaser) was designed to reduce lead toxicity and ricochet danger at shooting ranges. In any event, a bad idea for defense use IMO. Plenty of good JHP choices out there.

Not a chance.

I have been to a number of indoor ranges recently, and all they allow is the frangible ammunition due to the amount of lead released into the air from other types. This might be a good solution to being charged $15 for a box of 50 by the range. I don't see this ammunition as a viable defense ammunition.

90 grain hollow point is pretty much worthless for self defense. I'd take ball .380 over that. Anything less than 124 gr in a hollow point isn't a good idea. I'm sure many will disagree though and start posting ENERGY and what not though.

Nope. The bullet shape looks like it would be finicky feeder also.
