I suppose you all know of the AR-24 9mm Armalite is selling now which is based on the CZ-75 and Sig 210.
Does anybody know what frame their AR-25 is being based on, or is it an original design. It's their .45 ACP their currently working on right now. I coudn't find anything on their site.

thanks

PB

Also interested in the .45. I can find no real news about it. I had assumed that it would at least be in the gun press by now for "first look" type articles. Armalite's website is amazingly WEAK. A few so-so pix of the 9mm pistols that have been out for months, and no mention of the .45.
It astounds me that a player like Armalite can't at least show some sizzle on their site, even if the steak isn't ready yet.

I don't believe it's based on the 210 (well not functionally). I suppose it might have been intended to look a bit like it though.

I suspect it is based on a frame very similar to a Tanfoglio.
;)

Armalite's website is crappy. They need to fix that.

Not sure, but I think they plan on calling the .45ACP the AR-26 and plan to build the .40S&W version on it. If so then a 10MM is likely in the future too. I have the AR-24 and it's better than the current CZ75B, but not the CZ85 or Custm Shop SP-01. Both of the latter two have better triggers with the overtravel stop and are more shootable to me.

What do you like better about the AR-24, Gary

It looks like it would fit in CZ leather, there seems to be a resemblance. I'm looking to pick one up since they're selling it as such a low price. That and a Turkish-made Cougar!

I suppose you all know of the AR-24 9mm Armalite is selling now which is based on the CZ-75 and Sig 210.

It's a new roll mark on a Turkish Kilinc pistol that they've been making in that country for years. I believe the Kilinc is derived from the Tanfoglio CZ-75 copies.

The Sig 210 "lineage" seems to be limited to minor cosmetic changes to the slide. I feel like they're talking that aspect up to try and cover the fact that it's just another CZ clone, personally.

Does anybody know what frame their AR-25 is being based on, or is it an original design.

Either original, or again based on the Tanfoglio guns. I don't think the Turks have already been making a .45 ACP version, so it may be a new design done in house over there.

It looks like it would fit in CZ leather, there seems to be a resemblance. I'm looking to pick one up since they're selling it as such a low price.

Being a CZ clone it should be a pretty easy match. I've handled them in the store, haven't shot one, and they seem dimensionally identical, or near enough that a leather holster won't care. Strangely, they opted for the older pattern, less ergonomic backstrap profile, but I assume that's because that's what Tanfoglio copied, which the Turks copied from them, etc.

As for price . . . they seem to run $50 more than a bone-stock CZ-75, and only about $20-30 less than an SP-01 or P-01. I don't see the point (but then I've already got stacks of CZ-75 magazines, and the fact you can't use them in an AR-24 pretty much means I'll never be buying one).

Dobe, you weren't a Skeeter fan were you?:) I like how the AR-24 is made of forgings instead of cast. Call me old fashion on that. HorseSoldier, your point on the magazines is true and if I had known that before I ordered I might not of gotten it. Holsters for it might be a problem as the triggerguard is different from the CZ so depending on how closely molded the leather is it might not work. Kydex holsters that lock on the triggerguard won't work. I guess Witness holsters would fit better, but there is a small selection of them.

A plain 75B is under $400 around me
The Ar24 is $550 (only one dealer so they may be gouging).

I'd like to try one, I just can't bring myself to pay that much more.

Gary,

Skeeter?.....Skeeter Skelton?

I asked the question, because I am thinking about getting one myself. I like the forgings also. My only complaint is the mags not being compatable with CZ.

The AR-25 is (at least was) supposed to be the compact 9mm/.40. The .45 ACP version was the AR-26. Could have changed, but that was the initial press release.
