The SUPER-SHORTY is based on a Mossberg Maverick (also available on Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 at additional cost) 12-gauge shotgun which came from the factory with a pistol grip. Because of this, the SUPER-SHORTY is considered an AOW (Any Other Weapon) and can be transferred with a $5 stamp! The gun holds two 2-3/4" or 3" shells in the magazine, plus one in the chamber. The 16.5" overall length, 6.5" barrel and spring-locked foregrip, which pivots out of the way when not in use, make for a very compact package. As far as we know, this is the shortest 12-gauge pump shotgun available. All parts for the SUPER-SHORTY are made in-house on our own CNC machinery using materials ideally suited to the task. All welds are done by the TIG process, and the manganese phosphate finish is MIL-spec. The SUPER-SHORTY is currently being used by various law enforcement agencies and military units worldwide. If you like the idea of concealed carry with a 12-gauge, or like a lot of "bang" in a small package, or just want the most compact breaching weapon available, then this is the gun for you. You won't find a better made AOW pump shotgun than the SUPER-SHORTY!

Definately a canidate for the low recoil ammo! Nifty toy to keep in a shoulder rig as a BUG....

If they would build these on the Winchester 1300 receiver they would then handle the Aguila mini shells. Low recoil and you could probably stuff 5 or 6 of them into one, either slugs or the duplex buckshot.

Doesn't this take the wind out of the sails of US vs. Miller?

I don't have the Serbu, mine's from Tactical Innovations called the PMS 12.
I like it because it's built on the Mossberg 500. Cool because it's already tapped for scope rings - or a rail .

The rail was easy to come by and cheap, the laser... Not so easy.
The 1st laser broke into several pieces on shot number 3

I just tried out the Lasermax Uni on the PMS and am happy to report that it withstood about 20 shots of slug & buckshot, point of aim was constant. The only hitch I noticed is that the switch will sometimes reset under recoil, but it's ambidextrous and only seemed to do it from one side.

I don't have any pics with the rail yet, I will try to get some up on the web soon.

So are these things legal??? And what is meant by a 5 dollar stamp????

These things are considered an "AOW" (Any Other Weapon) under the 1934 National Firearms Act.

So you pay the BATFE $5, submit to a background check (not an instant one) and get the local CLEO to sign off on it, and you get a tax stamp and its legal to own.

Here, read this http://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/usr/wbardwel/public/nfalist/nfa_faq.txt

IIRC Ohio is an NFA friendly state (so you can own all the goodies there including machine guns, suppressors, etc)

I know you listed it as built on a Maverick or Mossberg action. Maybe I misunderstood. Can someone, anyone provide a link to the manufacturers website? I need to be able to tell my FFL who to order it from!

Depends on the laws of your state.

Legal to carry... I've always wondered if TX law allowed you to carry a machine gun openly. Okay for rifles and shotguns...

How would I go about acquiring said gun???

Plus wouldn't that have to be directly registered to the ATF's data base cause it's so short. The standard for all shotguns is a minimum of 18 inches of barrel as law states.
You may own such weapons as automatics and surpressors(which people always scream "illegal, illegal") just with either special license's or letters of recommendation from law enforcement. Wouldn't a shot gun or rifle below there required lenghts need to take extra steps. (If I'm correct 18 inches for shotgun; 16 inches for rifle)

Would said weapon fall into these catergorys??? Since I'm a legal gun owner this dosen't matter though, so once agian; how would I go about acquiring said gun?

PS thats the perfect HD gun seriously.

A shotgun of similar dementions minus the pump action and fed through a box magazine would be a fine combat breech weapon. Think about it.

Sorry about the double post, got mouse click happy.

Follow the link in post #10 to see why it's an AOW and not an SBS.

i'm suprised no one has knocked this guy for throwing out here what is obviously an advertisment. it's not a "hey guys, look at this!" kinda post, either.

*shrug* i already knew about it. if it comes in 20 gauge, i'd be vaguely interested. otherwise, i'll keep the 18" by the bedside and the .45 on the waist.
