I was watching/surfing one day and happened across the advertisement for this 50 Cent performace and noted the targets behind the stage. I did not think it warranted my valuable time to watch anymore. It bothered me and apparently I am not the only one. This guy is nothing more than a common thug and the last person we need advocating our passion. No wonder antis think the way they do. Did anyone else catch this?

The only thing worse than recorded rap music is live rap music.

Someone should take a verbal stick to MTV and their hypocrisy: "We forbid gunplay in our videos, but not at our awards shows."

I do not mean to offend but I feel that I should help correct the spelling of the above post.

You always have to remember the the " C " is silent and is the first letter for this type of music

50 Cent's music video for the same song involves showing two other individuals and Mr. Cent entering a gun range with eyes and ears on and standing in the stalls facing the targets. The view changes to the target, showing a few hits (high right, low left, IIRC) and then back to the guys at the line. The funny thing is: They never show the guns. TheSmokingGun has an article here (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/50cent1.html) stating that Mr. Cent was arrested multiple times for felony drug charges and plea-bargained to a lesser offence in exchange for 3-9 years in jail (for which he did 7 months in boot camp). Hmmm, maybe thats why they never show the guns. :uhoh:

BUT, an interesting occurence, as part of his MTV movie awards performance, he appeared on stage wearing what looked like a bullet proof-vest (with drop down crotch and butt shields). Someone might want to look into where the awards were filmed, and if convicted felons can possess/wear body armor in that state.

Also, from the Smoking Gun website, a picture of our favorite rap star:

Now how does he get to hold the Glock, while he's been sentanced to 3-9 years in jail? Things that make you go 'hmmmmmmmmm.' (well, at least his finger is off the trigger  )

As long as he doesn't hurt anybody, I don't care what he does.

You know, kinda have to give the guy credit for having his finger off the trigger....like normal people.

Someone should take a verbal stick to MTV and their hypocrisy: "We forbid gunplay in our videos, but not at our awards shows."That's the funniest thing about videos on MTV. I love seeing guns blurred or pixelated out.

I guess the award shows are exempt from their "protect the children" policy.

Skunk notes something interesting. The clown really is shown with his finger off the trigger. Odd.

TheOtherOne:
The "guns" displayed at the awards show had more in common with Skunkabilly's chrome and carbon fiber hairdryer than they do with any real firearm. Shown just a picture of the "guns", most would probably think they were out of some bad 1980's scifi movie and not from an awards show.

I haven't watched one minute of MTV since I was 15. Well before the days of rap. And that was a long time ago, let me tell ya. :)

That must've been when these guys were still popular:

BTW, is that a Glock 30 'Fitty Cent" is holding?

I havn't watched in a long time, either, not since Nirvana hit it big. I can't stand that style of music. Of course, MTV is a lot of TV, but not much Music these days.

When I watch music channels it's either CMTV or MTV hits. I prefer CMTV as the songs have more meaning and "feel".

P.S. Not to mention that bass gives me a dang migraine.

Why the past tense here? They still do it.
