Well, I finally got to shoot my yugo SKS. Wow - It is wonderful. Now I have several AKs and an AR and some others (including a CMP Garand on the way), but I could fall in love with this rifle. It is one sweet shooter. Little recoil, accurate, and I got quicker with the stripper clips during the session today.

It's a good-size rifle, a little on the long side for my female friend. But for me, it fits just right. Plus, did I mention it is SWEET?

Here's a picture of it being employed by my sweetheart. It was her first time to shoot a long gun. And she did AWESOME!

I've always thought that for something called a carbine, and SKS is rather long and heavy.

Otherwise, I can hardly fault it. If there was one thing the Soviet Union got right all the time, it was their rifles!

I was going to sell my Yugo SKS, but my female friend declared it the most fun thing to shoot in my modest arsenal. She won't let me sell it now.

I think the ladies like it because of the soft recoil, good firepower and short stock. If it were lighter, they'd never give it back.

Interesting that what she loved were the SKS and the Makarov. Maybe those Ruskies were smarter than we thought. Plus, I have to add, she said that seeing me with the guns made her kinda amorous. Anyone else run into this? Yeah, I think we'll go shooting again.
