Arnold Schwarzenegger for Governor?

He might run for Governor of California in 2004, I think. If he won, do you think the gun laws there would change for the better? I don't know what his stance on guns are, but he's very conservative and his characters use them in all his movies.

All I can say is that he could not be any worse than what they got in there now. I'd vote for him. Besides, being a celebrity might increase his chances of actually winning the election. ;)

As South told me, Schwarzenegger "defined himself as a social liberal, pro-choice and pro-gun control , plus he's married to a Kennedy." What a crime. But South sputtered on, adding that Schwarzenegger also is pro-gay rights, pro-immigrant and supported Clinton during the impeachment farce.

You guys should just draft "Fearless Leader" from "Rocky and Bullwinkle" fame.

Your state is already a socialist hellhole caricature, might as well have some fun with it.

:p :scrutiny: :uhoh: :barf: :D ;)http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?s=&postid=317509

Thanks Hal!

I heard somewhere that Arnold used to be in the NAZI party years ago back in Austria. Not saying it's true.

I heard somewhere that Arnold used to be in the NAZI party years ago back in Austria.I believe you are thinking of Arnold's father.

By the time that Arnold would have been old enough to actually join anything, the Nazi party had been both routed and banned in Austria. IIRC

I only remember Arnold speaking in support for Bush 41 and 43
and being a hardcore conservative.

But that of course is from the media.

Arnold owns lots of weapons and other cool toys but that of course does not mean he wants anyone else to have them.

We'll see.....

I think the best we could hope for from Arnold is status quo on firearms rights. He'll probably end up being the best of a bad lot.

I hate to think that way, but we're just not having much luck in CA politician-wise. And I'm still kicking myself for hitching my wagon to that moron Bill Simon instead of supporting Jones on the Republican ticket.

I sure wish Tom McClintock would run for Governor...

Actually, Arnold was born in Redondo Beach, California. He just has the accent because he's never listened to anybody else.

But Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger — expected to run for California governor this year — favours strict controls on the .50 Magnum.

Arnie’s spokesman said: “He knows the difference between cinematic violence and real violence. He knows real guns cause death and heartache.”
From The Sun (http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,5-2003261183,00.html) (look at the very end).

I've always admired Arnold as a body-builder, but could do without his gun control stance :barf:

nothing would change. We have a legislature dominated by Democraps. We need the Republican party to get it's act together in this state.

Here's an important example of why you shouldn't color all people the same way because of their so-called political association. Arnold is anti gun. No kidding...he's FOR gun control. He hates guns and hates violence and only uses them in movies for ....you guessed it -- money. Just because an actor uses guns, doesn't mean he defends the right to own one -- or knows how to use one safely. And just because a person is Republican -- doesn't make him your friend as a gun owner.

Arnold has gone on record saying that he supports some Democrat programs such as gun control.

Look for him to maybe back track if he runs.

I still have hope for Kalifornia.
But then again I believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

Be great if he can be brave enough to hold a view on guns different from his follow actors. Strange how they have no problems profiting from action films and only seem conflicted about us little people having guns....

Arnie is the enemy. Period. The ONLY reason he calls himself Republican is that he's pro-business. On EVERY OTHER ISSUE, he's a Democrat.

Can I believe that I just saw a gun owner say that me must be pro-gun because he uses them in the movies?!?!?! :what:

When our own are that dense, we're doomed.
