My deer hunting partner just bought a Super Blackhawk .44 for deer hunting
and I want to try handgun hunting as well and need some advise on this.
I have aways liked the GP100s and I thought this may be somthing I could
hunt with (.357) and still afford to shoot (.38).
Can I see some pics of scoped GP100, 6 inchers? What mount and does it
require machining?

You need something like this: http://www.mountsplus.com/miva/merchant.mvc?page=MSP/PROD/WEIGAND/WCR-RAS-WMB

Then your options open up from there.

Check out the Ruger website, they have some new stuff that might be just the ticket for you. I wouldn't rule out the new Blackhawk in .357 either. They can handle heavier loads that make the .357 a decent 100 yard deer cartridge.
