I picked up my first magnum today: A Smith 686-4 4" pre-lock. I had planned on only buying magazines and semis for the next couple years but I've been wanting a 4" 357 and it was a good price.

Any advice on nice wood grips?

I'd go to smith-wesson.com and see what they have available, I found that they have a very nice selection and personally I found the rosewood round butt grips to be very nice. how much did you pay?

I bought a couple pair of Ahrends grips from topgun supply.

Great grips that fit my hand and revolvers nicely. I really like the finger groove grips on my 3" 65. The targets are really nice also, Similar to the S&W ones but for normal sized hands. I've only dealt with TopGun once, but they were courteous and shipped promptly.

Congratulations, I am partial to the wood target stocks that came on my no dash. I believe S&W sells some on their website, if not the web is loaded with sites.

Congrats on the purchase of a fine revolver. I have owned mine since 1989 & have never experienced a problem in the many rounds it has sent down range.

Nothing better than a 357 magnum revolver!

Spend the money on a set of combat medallions.
