This scope might be worth some money and I should check it out. So what do you folks think its an older weaver it has some writing on it,

The mount rings on it say WEAVER 1- USA

Its got a funny reticle one like I have never seen b-4

I was told by a guy I ran into at the range that it might be worth some money. Was he full of it or do I have something here.

Not likely. It's just a Weaver K4 with a post reticle.

The older Weaver scopes made in El Paso are quite in demand on the evilbay. They are not worth a fortune but are solid good quality scopes. Difficult to judge exactly from photos but yours looks to be in really nice shape.
