At what distances are you shooting your .50 cal patched roundball frontstuffer rifles?

I'm the fool... I didn't read the post before clicking the poll. A sabot or conical firing .50 I go to 150 yards. Roundball guns maybe 100 tops.

I did some distance testing with 4 different 50 cal front stuffers shooting patched round ball with 70 grs of 3f goex behind them from a bench ...guns tested all had 1 in 70 twist barrels ..longest barrel tested was 38 inches , shortest tested was 28 inches ...all the rifles had Green mountain barrels . 1 barrel was 1 inch across the flats the other 3 were 15/16 ....the tightest group was shot at 100 yards by the 29 inch barrel 1 inch across the flats ....it was a tack driver ..could have hit a horse fly on the target board . The other 3 rifles shot good tight groups too ..just not as well as the heavy barrel .
All 4 did the same thing after the target was moved to 130 yards ...they all drifted right by as much as 3 inches ...some more than others ...but no more than 3 inches . ( 2 rifles were Thompsons Hawkens , the other 2 custom built Lancaster style rifles ) all 4 cap lock .

At the old Fort Ticonderoga Club shoot there was a 200 yard bench round ball match. I went from my 50-100 yard load of 90 grn FFG to 110 Grn of the same. 68 clicks up put me in the ten ring. You need wind flags to get good groups. But I have won that match with a 48-2X. Group was about 4 " with the two out of the ten ring into the 9 was due to wind.

I did this at 100 yards with 80gr/vol equivalent of pyrodex rs. standing unsupported:

my usual sight in and goofing around range is 50 yards. Groups at that distance from a rest range from 1 to 2.5" or so.
